We stayed in the River Cottage as a little break after the Christmas holidays. It was so restful and cozy to sit in the living room with the gas fireplace lit - and even to enjoy the snowy yard one afternoon to watch the sun set with a glass of wine in hand. The bed was very comfortable and the cottage had nearly everything one might want. It IS a cottage, however, so know the kitchen is small and without a dishwasher. I can imagine the cottage would be even more glorious in the summer. The location is also top notch - right in the middle of the Kennebunkport town. Highly recommend!

River Cottage is perfect for two, plus an occasional visitor. We oriented ourselves to the river side of the place so the front street action never bothered us. The Pilot House had quite a few nights of live music, but the doors were pretty sound proof!
Loved having a washer and dryer...and watching Hulu was a treat too. Very conveniently located and a great parking space!
The roses and pink mandevilla vine were beautiful; the garden immaculately tended! We enjoyed the grill as well. Only missed a food processor/blender and a pitcher in the kitchen equipment area, but Jamie provided a pitcher and I borrowed a processor from a friend, so that was sorted! We cooked quite a bit and found the rest of the kitchen to be just right! Its easy to see why River Cottage is so popular, but its really best for two, we found.

Loved our stay! The cottage is pristine and so relaxing. The location and views are perfect and Jamie was wonderful to deal with. Our favorite meal in Kennebunkport was actually the evening we grilled fresh lobsters and scallops out on the deck. Highly, highly recommend River Cottage!
